The prospect of seeing the movie after James Cameron’s Avatar can be a bit scary. That’s quite true to say that this spectacular film about spirituality, nature and consequences of human greed have changed the movie landscape.
But what about movies that came out in the next month or so, sure there is no Avatar sequel on the horizon but is there anything that can ease the desire for a cinema audience great entertainment without sacrificing a good story?
The first two films in the second list in the history of Greece and in fact they are only the first of a wave of films that centered on ancient Greece that will come out in the next year. Clash Of The Titans and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief big budget spectaculars as evidenced by the story line guaranteed to entertain and educate.
Both refer to the god of Greek mythology, the Titans and the devil and has some great messages contained in the archetypes and their magnificent play. To get the best of both making sure to polish the main character in this Greek drama in existing before you go to the movies.
Iron Man 2 is another figure of myth, but more of this type of spandex is not toga and sandals combo. Followed by the success of the escape in 2007 stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, industrial entrepreneurs in the day and an iron clad superhero at night. Power and responsibility is still the name of the game here. Add an extra nod to superhero Black Widow and Nick Fury played by screen no less than Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L Jackson and you know you are in for fun geek-fest eyes.
If your crazy fantasy then look no more than adaptation of Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland. Lewis Carroll This book is full of power and more allegorical meaning in the story sometimes crazy. The film stars Jonny Depp as the real Mad Hatter, and if you’re a Burton / Depp fan you really do not need to know much more than that to make you go!
So there you have it. February to March is the right time to pass the Post Avatar blues and head back to the cinema for some big screen entertainment with a message.
