Since I was in sixth grade, I have fought against the orthodoxy of the ordinary. It seems that roughly half of Americans believe that humor is a little strong and the same. Baby shoes? adorable. Oto? Worth. Little Tykes plastic chairs? It does not even make them start.
I was never satisfied with their reasoning. While I fully acknowledge that most babies are pretty funny (I was, of course), I can not go so far as to say that every possession they own adorable. “But they make you think about the baby,” I was always told. The argument is presented with passion and conviction.
Of course, if the friends of my old classmates with me now, they would all be raving about micro movie star, Alvin & the Chipmunks. We all sat through a cartoon many years ago, and now it’s, uh, we decorate the Box Office. Again. Are they worth it? No, sir, they did not. They are rodents who sing in high voices. Last I heard, there are different terms used for it: bitch.
I went to watch Alvin & The Chipmunks 2: Squeakquel himself in the middle of the day. You can imagine my deep sense of shame in saying the words “One for the Chipmunks …” My voice trailed off. I slumped in my chair, afraid I’ll note the four years to wonder why a man watching a scary movie without her children. When the movie started, I almost do not care anymore. All i know is that I’m in pain.
The Chipmunks “Squeakquel” is the opposite of funny. Music is original and obnoxious, and voice actor totally unrecognizable, because they speed up the sound too. Plot is quite simple: Alvin, Simon and Theodore go to school, became popular, and meet female friends their future, the Chipettes, who became just as popular. Both the trio must face off in front of the student body to decide which band will represent the school in a larger battle of the bands. The only problem is, Alvin is too absorbed in his own popularity to care what happened to his brothers.
The Chipmunks are not a big movie, or a good movie, or a decent movie. No, it was just annoying. Are there any other movies like this annoying? Sure there is. But those who rarely maintained. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore always have very fond floated by fans who think they are too valuable. Why? Because they are little. Just as paper clips, sticker burs, swine flu, hearing aides, intruders, mice, and all kinds of dirt. I believe I have made a point.
